Off the beaten path - another lightly followed winner, Docdata (DOCDF). This Dutch company makes CD's and CD-ROM's primarily for the European market but now in California, too. They also have an Automation Group which works with companies on using lasers in manufacturing.

It's hard to find much info on DOCDF. Their 1997 financials are here:

biz.yahoo.com

A summary of their IPO can be found at ipodata.com.

I've been watching DOCDF for several months. It floated around in the teens in 1997, then took off in January for a near double this year. Trailing earnings around $1 and projections for more than $2 in 1998 (the Zacks number says $3.90 but it looks like a mistake. If they picked up the number in Dutch guilders you have to divide more or less by two).

I'm long DOCDF since yesterday at 31. Target....? We'll see. Looks like a solid European company with no Asian exposure - not to mention real earnings.
