Microgen names Martyn Ratcliffe as next CEO

LONDON, April 3 (Reuters) - British computer services group Microgen Holdings Plc said on Friday that Martyn Ratcliffe has agreed to become executive chairman on July 30 when his contract expires with Dell Computer Corp (DELL - news).

The deal includes Ratcliffe making a ''significant' financial commitment to Microgen's growth and to be ''further incentivised to create sustained shareholder value.''
...........

''(Ratcliffe's) track record at Dell is impressive and he brings a new perspective to improving the performance of the group's existing businesses and to the future strategic development of the group,'' said chairman Douglas Lee.

Ratcliffe was the senior vice-president and general manager of Dell's Europe, Middle East and Africa operations from 1994 to 1997 -- during which revenue increased from $782 million to more than $2 billion and Dell became one of the top personal computer suppliers in Europe and the second biggest supplier in the UK.
