Letchworth Independent Bancshares is a bank holding co. for the Bank of Castile, offering a full range of commercial and consumer banking services to businesses and individuals. For the nine months ended 9/30/97, total interest income rose 7% to $14.4 million. Net interest income after loan loss prov. rose 7% to $8.2 million. Net income rose 7% to $2.3 million. Net interest income reflects an increase in loan volume. Earnings benefitted from a lower FDIC assessment.
