Jyoti: That was a beautifully written and extremely evocative portrait of the current market. It should be published. You are not alone in this situation, of course. I've been neither long nor short the market as a whole since 1990 when I lost a bunch of money on S&P puts. That taught me not to speculate more then I was willing to lose. The last time I was solidly long was November 1987! Still, interesting investment situations continue to occur, such as hedges in Closed End Funds or obscure deals like EMITF (see SI thread). I laughed at your post to "pass pass" today on TLK. You made it so complicated for him, he'll probably never ask again. regards, peter
