Here are some annoucements from NAB: ProMax promax.com will be showing "Ultra-2, Low Voltage Differential storage systems" at NAB. The company says the newly developed LVD technology allows a SCSI bus to be as long as 20 meters while providing a data burst rate of 80 MB/sec. "With a pair of LVD drives striped as RAID-0 sustained transfer rates of 32 MB/sec and higher can be achieved." The new ProMax storage systems range from $1,895 to $17,795 with an Adaptec AHA-2940U2W card and Seagate Barracuda 9- or 18-GB LVD drives. First deliveries are expected about the beginning of June. charismac.com FibreShare lets users create, edit and administer a shared storage network using high-speed serial storage devices (Fibre Channel or SSA). CharisMac will show shared storage networks running under both Macintosh and Windows NT from their booth, I11519, at the Sands conventions center.
