Started selling the SparQ 4th qtr 1997 (Dec ending). Sold only 39,000 due to component shortages and the like. Management has made some good moves to make sure things turn around. First of all they signed a supply/pricing agreement with SAE/TDK to supply inductive drive heads. They've also gone from about 75 to 130 servo writers and added a number of duplicators over the quarter that should help increase capacity. Looking forward, Syquest should be able to do about 500,000 drives/qtr along with up to 1.5 mil cartridges (lets just hope the demand is still there). Let's not forget about the SparQ being launched in Europe (not sure but I think it should be very soon). Europe traditionally has been a good market for SYQT and has accounted for a "significant portion" (can't seem to find the #'s right now) of revenues. As we stand now, the SparQ is at 0%...we should get a nice boost from a European launch. From what I hear, backlog is at a record high of 6 weeks.

I may disappear after this post due to my using a free month membership (giving me 3 posts a day). But hopefully SYQT will make me enough money that I may splurge for a lifetime membership.
