George, Did you mean macros aren't crushed giving errant
counts? I remember early on there were som problems with
crushing being done improperly an macros being broken. That
problem seems to hve been solved. Caustic fusion gives accurate
results because it doesn't risk damaging the diamonds but it is
slow. The rock has to be dissolved. It would be a bit like heap
leaching gold, I guess, to do a large amount of kimberlite and, I
would think, impractical in terms of time and cost. I don't
udnerstand, tough, how they don't risk breaking large diamonds
in the milling process.
