Almost all spending on aids patients is US, Europe and Japan. In Asia and Africa total health care spending is below $100/year/capita and in some countries below $10/year/capita. IRC has apparently been willing to do partnerships on Remune in Thailand and South America because the revenue potential was low. Most of the "western democracies" also have built in funding mechanisms so cost of care can be recovered for approved therapies. Funding for other regions is problematic.
