Here's my competitive analysis: System Price SPECint SPECfp $/int $/fp 200 MHz PPro $1,710 8.1 6.7 211 255 Dual PPro $2,860 13.8 11.4 208 251 Alpha-366 $3,530 10.1 14.2 350 249 Alpha-433 $4,430 13.6 16.2 326 273 The prices are from Core Microsystems and the benchmarks are from www.specbench.org. It looks to me like DEC needs to drop their prices 15% and improve their integer performance. They're not currently competitive, but they're close enough to bear watching.
