What is it? ======== In keeping with neo-colloquialisms, "pulling a Howard" is in the same category as "going postal" and relates to the way Howard Stern drops the other shoe on various actions and ideas. Similar to "pulling a Homer" relates to Homer Simpson's ability to create excessive faux pas. And so on... and so on... Anyway, Jon's "humorous phoney news release" falls into that same category of 'clever, but poorly thought-out' commentary. As everyone else has said, he has left himself open to some pretty serious reprocusions should CM or Custer get wind of it and choose to pursue the matter... In fact, PRNewswire may well also get on the bandwagon since he also mis-represented them as the source of the story! Not to mention SI taking affront since their medium was used to transmit all this mis-information. Should the "HAWKS of the LAW" get a wild hair about making new law with respect to the INTERNET, we then open an entirely new can of worms... In other words, a relatively insignificant attempt at wit and humor can, more often than not, lead to consequences as far-reaching as the Scopes Trial. It may take months or even years, but more often than one suspects, the ripples on the pond become tsunamis on a disdtant shore.
