The Royalties from Ericsson begin...

As Jack correctly observed, some time back, Ericsson acquired Orbitel, which had signed a royalty-bearing license agreement with Qualcomm for the production of Globalstar CDMA handsets. Consequently, Ericsson is licensed to produced CDMA handsets for the satellite market.

Moreover, to clarify any confusion that might exist in the marketplace, Ericsson must pay Qualcomm a royalty on the total wholesale value of the phones it sells to Globalstar. Therefore, Qualcomm's economic victory today is (a) the manufacturing profit from its $117mm contract with Globalstar, (b) the royalty deriving from ERICY's $204mm contract and (c) validation of the commercialization of another economic opportunity and income stream, namely Globalstar.

Best Regards,

Gregg
