Sandra:

I saw the same thing and since I am in Raleigh, I called SEER. I was connected to Tom Wilson (CEO) who was in a meeting with the CFO. They claimed to know nothing about what was going on and said my information about the jump in price was the first they had heard about it (that's why they wanted to talk directly with me).

Mr. Wilson said he could not talk about the company or the stock because it is the quiet period just before earnings are released. He implied, however, that the reports of the company being for sale may be overblown. He invited me to call back after earnings had been released when he said he would feel more free to talk about the company's future prospects.

My guess is that some fund (or large buyer) decided that SEER was a real value at only $3 and decided to jump in big time. Buying that many shares drove the price up to $4 temporarily. I wouldn't be surprised to see the stock drop back to the low $3 range in a few days. May be a good time to buy more if you think SEER is going to pull out of this funk.
