Novell to Unveil NDS Licensees, Road Map Novell has signed a memorandum of understanding with Sun Microsystems to license NDS, sources said. IBM officials have confirmed that they are also in discussions with Novell to license Novell Directory Services. The move comes as Novell is gearing up to unveil a road map for its Stand Alone NDS next month. Novell unhooked NDS from NetWare last summer and has been trying to decide whether to sell it as a stand-alone service or to package it with other cross-platform services. Unix vendors SCO, Hewlett-Packard and Caldera have agreed to support NDS on their platforms. Novell also intends to port NDS to Windows NT next year.
