Terrific idea
Two suggestions:
1) applescript a little window with running totals. This would do simple checking to allow only the last number entered for each person.

2) you are inventing an index! it would be cool to simply track this self-selected group's index against a few others, such as the broad market indexes and maybe a techstock. A lot of us would watch it.

I like it!
The webmistress of SI might want to help out here since this is such a dynamic and neat index. Even though statistically it is subject to the self-selection error, it is actually a little less subject to abuse than other such indicators because of the membership requirement. I know, there's a few sneaky folks that would try to fake it out, but IMO they're overwhelmed by others, anyway there isn't much to gain by changing the numbers (at least until someone creates an actual tradeable index), and it's fairly hard to with the only one valid number per day per member in the code.
