I've read the last 30 or so posts here [no way I'm going through all 13k of them] and I have to tell you that I am amazed by the people in the world that quote scripture to make a point, assuming it's the real deal.
The bible [new and old testament] is a translation of a translation of some second hand stories told by some guys that may or may not have understood what was going on at the time.
Thu Qu'uran is, in it's purest form, an arabic [any you folks out there read arabic?] retelling of a bunch of things Mohammed said WRITTEN AFTER HE DIED all from memory.
The basic facts are that, in diety based religions [Judaism /Christianity /Islam] all three [Abraham/Jesus /Mohd.] are supposedly prophets for God/Allah. The SAME God/Allah. The root of the three religions are essentially the same, yet all three squabble over interpretive stuff that, assuming there is a God, man can't really interpret.
So chill. I, personally, would rather be called 'agnostic' [good definition a few posts earlier] than to assume I knew what God was thinking [if, again there is one -- I'm an engineer and you're going to have to prove it to me] |
