"Is your pointing out that you are an engineer supposed to indicate something special to me? Does it mean that only non-engineers have faith in God?"
It only means that, as an engineer, I have been taught to validate results. And please don't tell me that I've had faith trained out of me. I was brought up a Catholic [Roman Catholic, to be specific] and after travelling realized that looking at one religion as the 'right' path was foolish. I'm currently living with my family in an Islamic country [Malaysia]. Soon we will be moving to a predominantly Buddist country [Taiwan]. My kids [3 and 8] have a much more open mind about religion than I did at their age [the 8 year old -- the three year old isn't making the connections yet] and I fervently hope that she will continue that way.
There are goods and bads in all religions; the good in most all is the message to love one another. I'm going to focus on the 'real' time we have on earth, making it better for my kids, and others kids, and leave the 'imaginary' afterlife to come what may.
['Real' and 'Imaginary' in the mathmatical sense, if you will]
"Have you ever humbled yourself before the Lord"
That's supposed to be good?
"Resist no more Tony, Let Him in and know that He loves you, most of all, be silent and know He is God!"
Who says I'm resisting him? I just know that it's impossible to pick one religion as 'right' and others as 'wrong'. So I eagerly learn all I can about as many as I can.
