opportunities for CYRIX and AMD at the low end. I'm not sure how much
they can hurt INTC at the low end."

Intel's extremely small Pentium die size, nearly two years of volume manufacturing on a 0.35 micron process, three fabs cranking out this process, etc., will give Intel unbelievable leverage (i.e., cheap die cost) that can be brought to bear against Cyrix & AMD.

I'd bet Intel could sell these slow Pentiums (Pentia?) for well under $100 and still make decent money.

Of course, if they can use the manufacturing capacity to make higher margin Pentium MMX and Klamath chips, well, they can just sell "a few" at sub $100 prices to squeeze the profits out of the Cyrix & AMD chips.

Gee, what a shame.
