<Wait 1 or 2 months or so to see if Castlewood ships its Orb. Same price. Double the capacity and performance.>

I'm afraid I have to agree with you here, Rocky. Truff should wait for Orb, but she should also wait for the Orb reviews.

If they turn out to be as flimsy as Sparky, some serious thought must be given to how much unreliability and data loss she can tolerate. Will simple redundancy suffice to prevent disaster? Is it worth the time, double media cost, and effort? Orb sure is a lot of storage for the money, but capacity means little if reliability is not there.

Truff, read those SparQ reviews linked to a few posts back. In 4 months, Orb reviews will be out and they could look like SparQ's or they could be glowing. A year ago I would have just said "get a Jaz." But the market is changing. Best to wait and see what develops, if you have that luxury.
