> I seem to recall that when the NC concept etc. was first announced everyone was saying no big deal to SUNW as low margins etc etc. If I am correct, then why if it appears the NC concept is likely to fade away is everyone taking it out on SUNW by running the stock price down?

You are absolutely correct. And as I said in my humble opinion Sun's only problem is a simple matter of market's wrongful perception of the company. The reason the wrong perception has intensified over the possible fade of the NC concept is simply due to the fact that it was introduced by Sun (and Oracle). So the perception says since the concept might fade away then these guys were wrong and therefore they can not make money therefore ....., etc., etc., etc.

But the fact is the NC concept (for Sun anyway) was just a miscelleneous item to push for its computing model in order to sell more servers. So what if NC fades away? Cheap PCs are as good as (if not better due to having more client flexibility) a fit in Sun's server centric computing model. The fundamentals in Sun's concept of the technology are as strong and solid as ever. Demands for servers will continue to increase due to the new computing model and if anyone doubts this I suggest everyone take an intrnet related company (and I mean any internet related company) and then look at the stock performance of that company for the past few months! The stock performance is due to the bright future prospects of these companies. They all rely on the new thin client/server centric computing model (as intriduced by Sun Microsystems and adopted by the industry). Without servers these companies would be as good as a dying thristy man without one drop of water in the Arabian desert. All server makers will make the most money due to the huge demand. And in my opinion of course Sun will be the leader of them all when it comes to selling the servers.

When it comes down to it in the short run the immediate problem with Sun is just going to be a matter of perception. Take every advantage of any sell off under $38 as a blessing from the sky!

As always of course just my humble opinion.

Addi Jamshidi
