I'm no expert. I just wouldn't buy more than 10 points out of the money and never shorter than a couple of months out. Never bet more than you can really afford to lose and try again. Thanks for the info. I've been doing my homework (thanks Pancho Villa, btw, for recommending _A Random Walk_, excellent book), and I just got approved to trade options on E*Trade, so I'm going to start with AOL puts. I just hope my sense of humor is as good as Bald Man's and Hawk's while I sit and watch this joker of a stock destroy my portfolio. rhet0ric
