What effect if any does a very large bid , take all or none ,have on the trading ? Does it help prevent the market from going below the bid price ? I know that the price can go below the large bid price without the large block trading . Does it have other than a physiological value when we are dealing with the overall market forces that determines the price ? I have seen the above in action and it looks to have a value to me in keeping the price stable . Perhaps the specialist is doing this in the realm of his responsibilities in keeping a stable market .
