Gary, Sorry if I seem defensive, I assure you I am not. The reason that I bring up the Project manager is to illustrate the point that for all the spin doctoring at the corporate level w/ strategic partnerships ETC... GTE never slowed buying and were installing Ascend gear during this time frame. Conclusion- Cisco was posturing. As you well know 1/2 the game is mindshare, Cisco was/is trying to gain mindshare in this sector. I do like the way that you attribute major contract wins by Ascend over Cisco (AT+T,GTE) as minor political issues. I'm sure that you know once Ascend gets embedded in these major network cores it will be difficult/impossible to get them out. On another point, I value your opinion and everyone else who has something intelligent to say.
