You state, I hate religion. that is fine, substitute spirtuality for religion in my original premise. the truth is, I feel that spirituality is more important religion. the premise of the point i was ineloquently trying to makes is that jesus, IMO, would be tolerant of other spiritual pursuits, a long as they wee motivated by love and compassion. I have a hard time picturing a defian Jesus, motivated by ego, chastising those who would not worship his name, but who seek spritual redemption through love and compassion.
