SQL server works only on one platform. Oracle works on all OS. MSFT has to dominate OS market before it can think of taking over Oracle. In another words, companies like SUN Micro. would have to die first. Will that ever happen? Right now Oracle is taking lead on both UNIX and NT. Oracle is eating market share from all the other database vendors, including MSFT.
