I think the responses you've had so far take the optimistic point of view. News is what will be needed to propel this stock any significant distance. Just because the approval will be granted in MAY for the DEC merger is a far cry from making it work. Problems will be incurred no doubt as they attempt to integrate the two companies. The fact that Compaq has already stated that the earning problem will continue into the next quarter means there is little likelihood for help from that area. Also I think right now there is a trust problem with it. After all Mason just finished lying to Wall Street about a month ago so I think there is a certain hesitancy to accept positive PR.
No doubt CPQ will make money for investors in the long run but I think the key word is long. I tend to think that CPQ has little upside potential over the next few months but that next year may see it on it's way to new highs.
Of course I have been known to be wrong. <<GGG>>
