Steve Covin: Why all the talk about puts and shorts on CPQ? Although I am Bearish on the Dow and the High Techs, CPQ has triggered several buy signals with both technical and fundamental indicators. I have no less than Six Technical Indicators signaling major long positions. The fundamantals indicate CPQ is currently undervalued by 25%. I will also point out, that over 50% of the PC and Server market is currently being sold by unprofitable "Other" catergory type manufacturers. Many of these "Other" companies simply won't last. CPQ is best positioned to exploit these companies and gain incremental market share profitably. One of many examples of these "Other" PC manufactures is a 200 million dollar "Austin" based company. Steve, if the puts/shorts are strictly a timing play, ok. But I can find no justification for shorting CPQ. CPQ is money in the bank. I am even recommending CPQ to my friends! Why all the talk on shorts/puts?
