Wahoograd: Re other OEMs.
Last December, WAVX consistently reported being in discussions with more than one OEM, and more particularly more than one American OEM (likely boxmakers), since that was a central issue in the Nasdaq de-listing setting. The company has more recently told me that discussions continue with other OEMs, but that the investor relations folks were inclined to defer to Mr. Sprague as to when he wanted to comment on those discussions and developments.
You have recently hinted at there being at least one other OEM (besides IBM) being in active discussions with WAVX, and seemed to suggest that IBM's being delayed a month or two because of turnover could allow this other OEM to get to market ahead of IBM. Do you know if there is an actual deal with another OEM, and can you comment on who it is, or likely is? If IBM has agreed to ship product, and cannot roll-out product until late May at the earliest, and someone else conceivably could beat them to the punch, I tend to conclude that at least the contractual arrangement is in place with this other OEM and it is only a question of production, not agreements or legalities. No matter who is first, however, the commentary on potential competition also raises the issue of who will become the industry standard, because centralization of processing seems to be critical to the ease of use for the whole metering concept.
I don't know how close you are to all this, or what restrictions you may be under in commenting in this forum on what you know. We'd all be curious to know, however, I am sure.
