[some wrapping job]

greetings piper

have been meaning to get back to you, but have been somewhat distracted by events... and altho you've probably made yours on this one by now... <g> will respond anyhoo..

>>Orckit the GTE home team? Ahead of what schedule?<<

was actually referring to previous discussions with srvhap re. usa in general

>>I don't think the street figures out all these intricate little contract deals because the details are kept under wraps.<<

some wrapping job... what's the good doctor putting it at? $330/line (now that's a nice round number)... and we don't even have an announcement yet... but then again he wouldn't be interested in putting a little spin on this would he? <g>... didn't exactly follow his logic there... if the the clec business will have more lines deployed than the ilec by year end 1998... why's he so agitated? <g>

>>If the winner low balls the rest they better have a profitable solution in the LONG run or they are DEAD<<

agree.... but then orctf shouldn't have anything to worry about if this is just a hollow deployment <g> ... or is it that the problem is the other way around and there are a lot of lines involved and therefore orctf will lose that much more?<g>

>>Are you privy to Orckit's silicon solution? Its cost-effectiveness to say ALA or WSTL.<<

no... just kinda shooting my mouth off...... but figure wstl wanting to use first generation after proof-of-concept trials was some sort of vote of confidence <g>

>>Please enlighten the less informed. I like your thinking on such a day as this and would like a reason to buy beyond DT<<

buy? sounded like you rather had selling in mind... and how did sf get it wrong about csco taking this one? and what does dt have to do with this? <g>

and now what was that you were saying about... lu's long-term solution (> 18 mos.) without wstl... and Amati increasing chip power rqmts...like 8W!.. ;)... actually i am quite interested...

just funn'n

best o luck
