Ticker: While we wait, let's speculate....Silence, soooo much silence....You know, I was watching that certain wall street movie the other night, for the umptity ump time. You probably know the movie I'm talking about, the one about the first in the wave of mega-buyouts of the 1980's, ie. the RJR Nabisco story, where the James Garner character tried to buy RJR Nabisco. As history can now tell, that attempt went completely wacko, what with all the subterfuge, political intrigue, ego posturing, etc., that went on during that process. Where am I going with this? Well, although I don't believe there's any way VLNC will be bought, the initial strategy behind the going's on in the RJR case was to move, and to move as quickly and as QUIETLY as possible. Quietly.......hmmmmmm.........
If you're on the cusp of deliverying a paradigm shifting product to OEM's, and IF that product is truly as good as you'd hoped for, then you'll be attracting OEM's like flies to honey. Here's the rub, for competitive reason's the OEM's are gonna want to keep their interest as quiet as possible until AFTER they've conducted/concluded their evaluation......just to prevent any "telegraphing" of market tactics, not to mention the face saving aspects of a negative evaluation for all the participants involved. And they'll damn sure want you, as the manufacturer, to keep your mouth shut, too. So I'm drawn back to all the silence going on.....hmmmmm.......
My grandmother use to tell me that silence speaks volumes......and maybe in this case it does.......but whether or not it is based on my above commentary, or on the equally plausible possibility that they're still having major line difficulties, forms the heart of the speculative gamble we longs have all made, eh? Don'tcha just luuuuv speculating? Heh. But I got'ta feeling we're about to find something out, real soon(ie. in a few weeks). By way of a prophetic move, perhaps L.D.'s option gambit is a signal we need to look closer at. But of course, all of the above is merely me thinking out loud. Meanwhile, take a look at BLDPF. A true moonshoot if ever there was one, and another example, like VLNC, of a 21st Century company with bright prospects ahead of it.
