Barron's "Plugged In" column (4/6, p. 51) throws us a curve, discussing a chip newsletter's remarks about "approaching overcapacity" for Intel-compatible microprocessors and naming the three usual suspects (NSM, AMD, IDTI). It says the primary glut will be at the low end. Also goes on to mention a possible IBM investment in AMD. My sense from the many outstanding posts on this board is that the price pressure is already taken into account in IDTI's plans, but will the market see it that way come Monday morning? CN
