I have read the news release that IAS put out on Friday. It reads as follows.

RICHMOND, British Columbia, April 3 /PRNewswire/ -- IAS communications, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board:IASCA ) wishes to announce that they have received a summons and complaint in a civil action filed in U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon. The Plaintiff seeks money damages and equitable relief against IAS alleging patent infringement by IAS for the Contrawound Toroidal Helical Antenna (CTHA). The Company has notified West Virginia University (WVU) of this claim and have contacted WVU to assist in the defence as WVU owns the patent rights to the CTHA technology.

The Company has been granted the exclusive sublicense for commercial applications for the CTHA technology by WVU. Two patents were granted on the CTHA to WVU; one in August 1995, and another in August 1997. The Plaintiff"s patent was approved on March 31, 1998. Based upon the information available to the Company at this time, the Company believes that the Plaintiff"s alleged claim of infringement is without legal or factual basis.

Details of the defence by WVU and the Company will be announced when prepared and received from our attorneys.

P.S. How can a patent be issued on March 31 1998 whan WVU already had patents issued 08/95 and 08/97? I hear that plantiff is a employee or ex-employee of the university.
