You're going to get a "Palm PC" Jay? One of those famous Microsoft "innovations"? Especially the name? What was the xtream show?
Microsoft will do whatever they can get away with, we all know that by now. Will they rule the "appliance" mart like everything else? Maybe, I got my doubts. It's not like everybody doesn't understand what's going on now. WinCE is being pushed at negative cost everywhere, like paying off the cable guys, and there's still resistance. Meanwhile, the next release is going to have HP's Java clone and realtime features and everything else. Meanwhile meanwhile, the Windows 98 release is almost an afterthought, everybody's supposed to switch to NT4 and wait for the indeterminant release date for NT5. Funny company.
Funny thing about Money, it's been pushed for virtually free ever since that other DOJ (or was it FTC?) action. Funny thing about Outlook 98, which Sal was claiming wasn't free a few weeks back, it seems to be free now, at least there's a no-strings download on ZDNET. Microsoft sure is giving away a lot of software these days, they're getting more communist all the time.
The TV/convergence thing I can't read. For the life of me, I got no idea why anybody wants to watch TV on their PC, but I don't watch much TV in the first place. One thing you can count on, all Microsoft's moves are going to be heavily scrutinized for years to come, they're not going to sneak up on anybody anymore.
