Sorry Ratman, but here is what BAAT has to say about the number of shareholders...

"Finally, we would like to provide some statistics about B.A.T. stockholders.ÿ In recent months, the number of shareholders has increased exponentially to over l0,000 shareholders. B.A.T. stockholders owning blocks of stock under 10,000 shares control over 75% of the free trading shares.ÿ Additionally over 6,500 shareholders, own blocks less 5000 shares and over 2,500 shareholders own less than 500 shares."

You say ... "BAT routinely sends out faxes to about 1200 comprising members of the general public, media,Industry and shareholders who had requested to be on the list."

I still say... BAT leaks information to a small group of investors before it is public and that this practice should stop. Think of all the money they could save or put another way, all the shares of BAAT they wouldn't have to sell. Using email and faxes to coordinate their day care service on April 18 is OK. But alerting small groups of investors walks a thin line.

I know guano when I see it, I just don't step in it. Got it!
