Worswick, I was hoping I could find it at one of the excellent old books and out of print book stores in Manhattan. You never know what you can find there. I once found a Malaysian phrasebook from the 1930's and it's "handiest" phrase for the foreignor was (seriously) in translation: "Excuse me, but there is a mosquito standing on your sofa." I guess it was the malaria worry but the translation was so absurd-sounding that I bought the book immediately. I can only imagine what might be considered a handy phrase for people travelling in America right now. dulane
