any comment why gold has been very strong-the bullion has added 18 $ an ounce since march20. regarding the comments from those firms on semiconductor most of them are full of sh-- they always remain bullish in good times and bad times. they follow those stocks it does not benifit them to cover an out of favor industry or say anything bad because of investment banking fees. this is why its more important when a person like kurlak-who i believe has been around the highest ranking from institional investor and works for the biggest investment bank does not benifit at all from saying that he sees an awful year this year and at best modest growth next year. i mean kurlak got ripped when he downgraded micron in the 50's and intc from investors or cheerleaders. if he turned bullish that would be more significant move-or ubs securities who predicted amat and the group downturn turned bullish that has more meaning. also these guys and most of the street are very upbeat on amat and the group and the i believe the positives are priced in the stock. look what happened to klic when their news everybody slashed prices in half and put target prices for the year at 20-22-which basicly means sell it. i think when amat comes out with numbers that are more opt to severly on the low side it will be interesting to say what these boys say when they slash estimates by 40-60%. also, i don't like to buy a stock based on the guidelines well the group is not as overvalued as the whole market. my personal opinion is like the semi group in a downcycle will wipe out the weak and the strong will survive. i think this market needs a crash because the rationality of the market is unsophisticated on the belief stocks always go up or rebound very quickly-but hey-its the only game in town with interest rates- one word asset inflation-i think the smart thing to do right now is at some point asia looks lot cheaper to the u.s.a. on a contrarian note-everybody selling their asai mutual funds and throwing money in u.s.a mutual funds. one of my best friends runs 1 billion mutual fund and he says their is no real good values out there but his fund mandates he stays fully invested. which why he says he raising and savin g a lot of money personal because thats the environment we are in. the one guy sais something interesting is if you buy semi's you should be cautious and plan average down -i agree--the momentum on these stocks like amat are unrealistic and tells me the people buying don't understand the group. thats it. i apologize if i'm negative but i was doing the same thing on the klic thread and people were ripping to shreds saying no way are having problem but everything i predicted about klic happened so i'm not backing down. everybody loved klic at 28-29 now their scared and crying and i don't here anything about long term investment .

on the klic thread reply 2846 basicly summs it up
