Irthrifty,

Haven't had time to look at NSM, but you are right about their stock performance. Definitely not the best.

I just bought the Mac, G3 233 mhz computer about a month ago. Apparently the 266 mhz machine is about 30% faster than the Pentium II 266 mhz processor on certain applications. I do know that my 233 mhz is fast as hell. It is my understanding that Apple was able to achieve this type of speed by "backsiding cache" which basically enables the CPU to access the cache more directly and thus avoiding the system bus which has limitations. At least this is what they are claiming.

I assume that Apple has done what NSM will be doing but possibly on a smaller scale.

Kurt

PS Thanks for the two communications sites. They are very informative.
