Dear Mr. McPeeley,

I will ignore your comments about Addi.

I did however, read the posts on the Intel site that you gave links
for. Thank you (see... its not hard to be nice:)) What I found
there was the reference for the study I alluded to -- The Gartner
Group in 1996 found that the average annual TCO (total cost of
ownership) for a PC (in a networked business environment was $13,000.
Of this, 79% was the support costs. Based on the Intel site, they
said that by using their management model, they could reduce the
cost by $2080 per year. Big deal! So, it costs $11,000 to administer
the PC.

Also, the whole discussion about how to reduce costs was based on
the idea of the NetPC... which is nothing but a slightly fat NC.
The client-server model was touted as the way to cut costs. Well,
Sun has been saying this for years.... more servers for Sun, and
yes, more NT servers will be sold also. In fact, I agree that
with time, NT servers will dominate the market. But all ships will
rise when the tide comes in, and Sun will also keep its lead in
the very high end market ($1M servers) for the forseeable future.
