Richard Houchin:

20 Questions!

1. Are you the same CPA who started the NASI board at SI?
2. Don't you own more than 60K shares of NASI or about 1.4% of the float? If so then my congratulations - I figure your cost of +/-$80K on 60K shares to be worth +/-$2.1 million!
3. Is it ethical practice in California for a CPA to recommend an equity "to all his clients" in which he owns a substantial stake?
4. Isn't MH Meyerson the former investment banker for NASI and hasn't their reputation been called into queston even on the SI:NASI board?
5. Why would the Meyerson Report (early 97) include anything about Palladium products as NASI didn't produce nor contemplate any then?
6. Isn't Oppenheimer the new investment banker that replaced Meyerson and floated the private issue of 800,000 shares in 11/97?
7. There is only one analyst following NASI (Oppenheimer?) and they rate it a buy with FY98 EPS of $0.31. Last year EPS were $0.07. First QTR EPS were $0.01. Is the stock overvalued at a PE of over 530? BTW 5 analysts rate THRX a strong buy!
8. Only one fund - Tudor has reported buys of NASI to SEC - 300K of shares. By my last count on 3/31/98 THRX was owned by 37 funds!
9. Directors own 979K shares and Mentor owns 250K of share per SEC report 3/17/98. Where is the institutional support that you suggest?
10. First shipments of I-125 were not until 1/4/98. Ramp up in FY98 to 10,000 seeds/week which Oppenheimer translates to $4.7 million in revs for NASI. IMO THRX sales in FY98 will be in $40 million arena after FY97 results of $24.6 million. Annual growth rate for next 5 years is 49%. How will NASI catch THRX with a 10% sales growth rate?
11. NASI entered into manufacturing deal with PracSys for 2 each IP-6 linear accelerators on 2/4/98 at cost of $2.7 million. Don't they have the manpower to manufacture within or are they still at the 15 employee level?
12. Will the PracSys deal which calls for royalty payments by NASI impact profit margins for the next 2 years (length of agreement)?
13. How will the PracSys deal with 2 accelerators compete with the 8 cylotrons (4 new ones this year) that THRX is scheduled to have on-line in FY98? Carry this further to FY99 as THRX has already contracted for 6 additional cylotrons?
14. Does expansion into P-103 product line cause problems as THRX holds patents and NASI is just now applying?
15. What existing base products of NASI do you mean - the pollution control products? If yes is that significant since I recall that prior to the I-125 product NASI had annual revs less than $3 million and less than $0.20 EPS and couldn't even get listed on NASDAQ after leaving the Vancouver Exchange? Latest annual report says sales and earnings in this area down due to competition!
16. What management do you speak of other than Michael Cutrer and the new I-125 sales manager hired 1/6/98?
17. Do you really think that Mentor will be more successful marketing seeds for NASI than J&J in marketing for THRX?
18. Is it true as physicians on the SI:NASI board have suggested in the past that NASI competes with Amersham of England not THRX?
19. Is it true that the NASI I-125 isotope has 3 half-lives more than the Theraseed thus remains active longer to produce the same results (180 days to do what the Theraseed does in 17)?
20. Could some of your exurberance for NASI vis-a-vis THRX competition be a result of the NASI Annual Stockholders Meeting last Friday?

Look forward to reading your response!
