Which newsletters recommended it and when? Earlier this year Iwerks
had turned around and showed sequential quarterly earnings growth and
was starting to be valued as a mini-Imax. However much of the earnings growth
was from cost reduction as opposed to revenue growth. Recently there was an
additional hiccup in revenue growth - the delay of Asian orders. During this time
the stock bottomed (at least for now). However those close (ie inside) the company
must have known about this - for the stock had been slowly but persistently dropping for
weeks prior to this news. The key question now is revenue growth - Imax is demonstrating
it and commanding a hefty P/E; it remains to be seen whether Iwerks is up to the challenge.
If it sounds like I'm frustrated - you're right
