[Concentric Network and Teligent Announce Service Agreement]

CUPERTINO, Calif., April 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Concentric Network Corp. (NASDAQ:CNCX) today announced that it has signed an agreement with Teligent, Inc. (NASDAQ:TGNT) whereby Concentric Network will provide nationwide backbone data network services in support of Teligent's business objective to offer a full range of high-quality, high-bandwidth communication services to small and medium-sized businesses.

When the system is implemented, Teligent's digital wireless networks will be interconnected with Concentric's ATM backbone to enable the delivery of high speed, Internet-based services. Teligent plans to initiate service in at least 10 major metropolitan areas this year, and will ultimately offer service in more than 74 major markets across the country. In addition, the agreement enables Teligent to re-sell Concentric's VPN and Web hosting services through its nationwide sales team.

"We are extremely pleased to join forces with Teligent, a company that is pioneering the category of integrated communications provider. The interconnection of our nationwide, high-performance ATM backbone with Teligent's digital, fixed wireless networks will make it possible for small and medium-sized business customers to have top-quality, low-cost Internet services from a single provider," said Henry R. Nothhaft, chairman, president and CEO of Concentric Network.

Terms of the agreement are not being disclosed.
