EMR Reports Results From Marketing Initiative

Fredericton, NB, 6 April 1998 - - - EMR Microwave Technology Corporation
("EMR") (EMW-ASE) is pleased to announce that its recent marketing
initiatives at the Prospectors and Developers Association (PDAC) meeting on
8-11 March and contacts in Europe have resulted in several new business
contacts with mining companies which are now being followed up.

Several presentations were made at the Toronto PDAC meeting; 12 of those
companies were selected for further discussions toward development of
working business relationships including testing agreements and pilot plant
installations.

In total, EMR is now in direct contact and discussions with 46 mining
companies worldwide; 23 of these are already engaged in testing contracts,
10 new proposals were initiated through European literature exposure, one
is at the process engineering qualification stage and several others are in
discussion for Letter of Intent. Several major mining companies have
proceeded to the test agreement stage, including Anglo American, Newmont
and Placer Dome.
