Worswick: It's a pleasure to see you here.

And the answer is!!................. I dunno

I think there's a bit of hemming and hawing in Korea on this issue, because the announcements are infrequent and a little different each time.

All of my links are listed at the Yahoo discussion group, if not here:

Yahoo Board messages.yahoo.com

The latest reports I've found re foreign limits are: biz.yahoo.com
korealink.co.kr

Others can be found either on this site or at Yahoo.

Since I first posted here, the premium on SKM has declined from 150% to 80% and is now back up to 98%. Most of this movement is due to fluctuations in the currency rates and the price of SKM in Korea. The US price per share has been quite steady.

This seems to be the pattern. In other words, a hedge seems to work best if the Korea market improves in USD terms and does not do so well if the Korea market declines, as has been the more recent experience.

However, if all restrictions on foreign ownership are lifted, then I can't believe the premium will last long. That's all I know. It doesn't all add up in my mind, but, in light of the opportunity, I'm holding my hedged position. In fact, I increased it a bit today.

Hope this is of some help.
