1. I'm not being snotty. Just making an observation which was not disputed.

2. The vast military build up you refer to was necessary to finally push the Russian economy to the brink of collapse and thereby insure the death of communism, the Iron Curtain and the Soviet bloc. It was supported by a large number of Democrats I suspect not on policy grounds but because the build up included a lot of goodies for Democratic congressional districts. Sometimes you have to deal with the devil to get the job done!

3. The savings and loan disaster was in large part made possible by Congressional meddling in the attempts by the FDIC and FSLIC to adequately regulate the industry and "throw the bums" out. I worked for FSLIC and I can personally testify to meddling by various Congressman (overwhemlingly Democrats, including Speaker Wright) in the exercise by the regulators of their duties. I would also note that the Democrat Congress passed the legislation which made the whole debacle possible. (Garn-St. Germain Act).

4. No one will remember Mr. Clinton's accomplishments because he doesn't have any. His will be remembered as one of the most scandal ridden administration in history. The damage he has done to the office of the Presidency is incalculable. The "right wing conspiracy" exists only in your mind (and Hillary's). JLA
