Jeez, can anything else go wrong with this company? Wait, please don't answer that. Of course it can.
Just being mentioned in the Orange County Register article on halted companies was ugly, since the overall gist of the article suggested that the vast majority of halted companies turn out to be guilty of fraud. So we have guilt by association if nothing else.
Now the shutdown. Oh well. GRNO has provided me with a valuable lesson in microcap investing. I now refer to my "GRNO Rule" and have invoked it several times just in the past 6 months. Namely, sell half your position at the double point to recoup your initial principal investment. Had I done that with GRNO, this would all be academic. But I'm not crying about it. Live and learn.
I do feel a little sorry for those diehards on this board who still seem to think that this company is going to rise up and become successful. I've stuck with the company all this time--haven't sold a share (damn!) so don't accuse me of being a member of the enemy camp, but let's all get REAL here. Ron, Charles, et al, deep down inside, way deep down, I mean way deep down where you live and breath, you don't really think we have a chance in frozen tundra of ever seeing our money here, do you? I mean really and truly?? This investment has become an academic exercise, a life lesson, a humbling experience which will hopefully serve us all well in our future investment decisions (as an example of what not to do). But to think we'll make money here seems preposterously naive, and more important, a precious waste of time and energy. Anyone for chasing rainbows? Sorry, I'm a pragmatic realist (how's that for a redundant moniker?). That's the way I see it, and I respect anyone's right to see it differently. Thanks for listening. >>>Scott |
