This was in e-mail from the Intelligent Investor this morning. martin We don't much like the Canadian Diamond plays but: money can be made on the Mystery/History principle. Only the shot gun approach will work. Here goes: Winspear (WSP-Vancouver, winspear.com) Probably the least promising play but we love the liquidity which comes into this baby as the drill starts to turn. Surreal volume and monster bids appear as the hype mill gets going. One you really don't want to own once results come out but at 80c, we see a 50-60% return on the table. Pure Gold/Ashton (PUG-TSE/ACA-TSE) For the purposes of leverage the PUG will do at $1.00. There is money in the bank and a reasonable amount of credibility, but promoter D. Sheldon probably handcuffed & muzzled by a senior partner striving for credibility. More a bet on the real thing and not as much fun as WSP. Mountain Province (MPV-Vancouver/MPVIF-Nasdaq, mountainprovince.com) Probably the best diamond play in Canada, but as is often the case when DeBeers gets involved in a junior, The Cone Of Silence has been put into place. Stock trades by appointment only, what a shame. One to buy if you like betting on the real thing. Rex Diamond (RXD-TSE, rexmining.de) We have been buying this aggressively in the past 2 weeks since 1.30. Presently at 1.80 with a very promising and proven project in Sierra Leone. Very possibly coming back into the fold, it's nice when mercenaries are on your side, and lots of good rumours from their Mauretania property {we don't know where that is either so don t feel so bad} Should break into $2.00-$2.40 territory next week. ____________________________________________________________________________
