To all: this is a post I sent to lisa on private mode. Any opinions?
Thank you, lisa, that was exactly the sort of information I was looking for. I have found out the hard way that execution is everything.
One other thing: I watch these major announcements with some interest. Not being terrific with TA, I've watched other things. For instance, last week when the news came out on that new sugar substitute, I watched the action on JNJ, the parent company. Sure, the stock jumped open higher, but if you had bought options in the morning, you would have a nice profit before the close of trading. It was true today with CCI, CMB, MER, TRV, etc. In your opinion, is this a workable strategy, or just an anomaly a novice day trader has seen?
I have used the tactic of buying OEX calls after one or two of those massive sell programs has hit the market. So far, it has worked every time. Your friend David Plonk's message has me cautious. I don't fight the tape or argue with success.
Thanks for your considerate reply. Good trading, Jay |
