Hi Janice,

I am addressing this to you only because it is convenient, since you were the last posting.....btw...great IPO!.....hehehe...

So, to all:

On the subject of homosexuality, transsexuality, genetics...blah blah blah....

Everything in modern science indicates that there is a strong predisposition to homosexuality and transsexuality....that is, genetically, etc....So, who's surprised by this?

The question is, who feels threatened by this?

Now, let us suppose there isn't any genetic influence....So what? So what if it were entirely a choice? So someone is attracted to someone of the same sex....big deal.

Not one of us here, no one person anywhere, ever creates love. It arises in our experience(fortunately)unless something works to block that feeling and the expression of it.

My two cents also includes this: Love is impersonal. The natural course of Love is to individualize Itself, to particularize. In our culture of so much fear and anger, we often confuse Love with something it is not. To my way of thinking, one of the things it is not is anything that needs to be vigorously rationalized, as happens with any severe rigidity such as an addiction or a belief system that intends to divide.

Frankly, I think it is a misunderstanding to even say, well, homosexuality is a genetic error, so it is not "their fault." In all scientific honesty, it is not really an error. It is something different, a variation. It is not a case of something going wrong in the development of the foetus. Think about it.

It is an instance of something different happening, but we bring our own acculturation, our biases, our fears, our religions, our personal histories with us whenever science or anything else opens the doors a bit wider and bids us take a look. Sheesh!

Best,
Charliss
