>>Pgp was acquired by a firm called Network Security, (or so I can not recall the name), and as I write, the pgp.com server seems to be down so I can not access it for now.<<
Juanita,
This is to correct my own post above, the firm that acquired "pgp" is NETWORK ASSOCIATES, NOT Network Security as posted above.
Network Associates is a NASDAQ listed company, today it closed at $67.063 (up 1.625). symbol: NETA
This company has been putting a number of TV advertisements lately, about Network Security. The web site is:(which is now working)
pgp.com
There are some old news but relevant in terms of evaluating JAWW against Network Associates.
nai.com
1997 Annual report: nai.com
You need to have Acrobat, to download it.
I personally have used pgp for a couple of years or so, and found the software easy to use and never had any problem with encrypted e-mail, best of all, I have used the freeware, and I never paid a penny for the same.
The version I have is pgp v 5.3, with that, you have a range of key-pairs you can use from a low of 768 to 3062 bits (Diffie-Hellman) to a "custom" key pair of 512 to 4096 bits. (same as JAWW).
It can also communicate with the RSA algorithm maximum 1024 bits, I imagine due to prior versions of pgp.
As an individual the above values are more than enough, the commercial version is supposed to have added features.
You can also see other data about Network Associates at:
nai.com
The reason I am bringing this up, is so you can see what the leader in this field is doing and use this as a starting point to evaluate JAWW.
My opinion is that JAWW seems to have an opportunity to grow, given the size of the market, however, I would not discount the competition nor the capacity of JAWW to produce earnings, but I would insist in getting a little more details. Today JAWW had indeed a good day in the market.
Another important point to consider is if the valuation of the company will be affected by the exchange rate between US/Can $.
Here the analysis gets a little more complicated, given technical indicators particular to the dollar index and specifically the Canadian Dollar.
The US Dollar index seems to be reaching an important point, it has been in a bull market for some time now and it seems to be stalling.
The Canadian Dollar has been sliding and recently the trend seemed to be reversing, however, such change in trend seems to be in question now.
Of course it all depends, if you are simply going to play the momentum of JAWW, as opposed to a longer term commitment.
At this point all I am doing is answering your question of my opinion re: JAWW, and I am pointing out what seems to be relevant to me. From there, I express no recommendation as to buy sell or hold JAWW, that is something you will have to decide.
I am not qualified to give such type of recommendations.
Any further questions Juanita, I would prefer you keep contacting me via private message.
I made the decision to post publicly as I thought would be for the benefit of others, I now acknowledge, doing so, was a mistake.
Regards.
