Apple also provided software that allowed you to create programs that took speech commands, too, though it wasn't entirely reliable. I published a calculator product that took auditory input, and also reliably gave speech output, in voices we supplied, and you also could create your own voices for it. Apple had some kind of speech technology built in from near the beginning of the Mac. Linda
