Millennium Communications Inc.: Company Update
TORONTO, ONTARIO--Millennium Communications Inc.: ("Millennium") is pleased to announce that Tony Rothschild has assumed the position of President and CEO of the Corporation. Tony is an experienced senior executive best known for his entrepreneurial flair and his capacity for starting new companies from scratch, launching new products and taking responsibility for controlling all areas of running a company. He started Phonettix Intelecom Ltd. in 1987 and as Chief Executive Officer, grew the company to over forty employees. Phonettix, a Toronto Stock Exchange publicly listed company, (PXT) has become the market leader in Canada for Interactive Voice Technology and is now Canada's largest independent call centre Company, selling to major corporations, banks, government and telephone companies.
Customers include such companies as Bell Canada, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, Toronto Dominion Bank, Canada Trust, ManuLife, Microsoft, Canadian Tire and Air Canada. He has also steered a number of other embryonic ventures to success including a $30 million service bureau.
Tony is also the Co-Chair of ACT Canada's Communication and Marketing Committee. The Advanced Card Technology Association was formed in 1989 to promote emerging technologies like smart cards.
Steven Hecht served as President of Millennium Communications Inc. for the period from February 13, 1997 to August 30, 1997. For the period September 1, 1997 to September 30, 1997, the office of the President was vacant and duties of the President were conducted by Eugene Foo, the then C.E.O. and Donna Marie Anton, a vice-president. October 1, 1997, Tony Rothschild joined Millennium Communications Inc. and was made its President. November 1, 1997, Eugene Foo resigned as C.E.O. in favour of Tony Rothschild, remaining with Millennium Communications Inc. in a consulting capacity only.
